Dial of Destiny Preview: Waiting for an Ending Worth Having
Before watching Dial of Destiny, Matt and Dan discuss the uneasy experience of anticipating another Indiana Jones film. Affection for a character can make a return exciting and raise the standard it has to meet.
Matt describes seeing early reactions pull in opposite directions. Some promise a fitting conclusion; others make him cautious. Rather than letting that swing settle his opinion, he returns to the need to see it and decide for himself.
His attachment to the earlier films gives that caution a personal basis. A final chapter has to do more than bring back familiar clothing and music. It has to offer a reason to reopen a story viewers may already consider complete.
